• In 1981, the DAF Dealer for Northern Scotland went out of business leaving behind some problems and the reputation and integrity of DAF Trucks was under pressure
• Out of this unfortunate set of circumstances, Norscot DAF Trucks Ltd. was born. In order to win back confidence, a new style of motor trade culture was born. It was about customer care, value for money and trust. DAF customers were to be special people. No more Motor Trade waffle here, not now, not after what had gone before.
• There in 1982 was a new dawn, a new opportunity to succeed. In November 1982, Norscot went forward to the truck market with a new offer.
• It said, “Trust us! We are the honest people of this business”.
• We redefined the term Truck Dealer and committed this company to a future of care defined in three words:-
• Honesty, Quality, Value.
• From eight staff on day one, the company has grown to have staffing levels of over one hundred at five locations. Turnover has grown from £1.2 million in the first year to over £25 million today. Norscot Truck and Van Ltd. Is now a substantial organisation built on a promise of consistent quality and with an in-built culture of customer care
• Today and everyday in the future, we offer out customers a true partnership. We give our time freely to our customers to discuss how we can go forward together as true partners because we are happy to share all the lessons we have learned along the way.
• We are a sophisticated company now and recognise that the majority of our customers are living in a very fast changeing environment with huge demands created by legislation on top of all the usual problems associated wit hrunning commercials vehicles.
